A Brief OverviewReporting to the Executive Director of the Foundation, the Development Officer/Senior Development Officer leads with Foundation colleagues as well as Clinical and Executive leadership to drive the fundraising success of the Regional One Health system during a time of critical and exciting growth. The Officer manages a robust prospect portfolio (cultivates, solicits and stewards donors and prospective donors) in order to meet ambitiously articulated fundraising goals. Must be a self-starter, strategic thinker, collaborative colleague and possess strong relationship-building, written and oral communication skills, and a passion for healthcare and serving others. Must initiate and maintain a high number of significant donor relationships while understanding discretion and demonstrating a passion for thoughtful engagement with others from differing backgrounds. It is intended that this position will be enabled to grow in responsibilities with demonstrated success in it.

What you will do

Manage a portfolio of approximately 150 active donors, reconnect with lapsed donors, and identify and cultivate new donor prospects.Drive growth in philanthropic giving through personal interactions, direct outreach, fundraising campaigns, and foundation special events. •Work alongside foundation staff, board members, and volunteers to identify, cultivate, and solicit contributions that will increase the number of active donors •Work with foundation staff and board members to improve donor engagement and grow the number of active donors supporting Regional One Health Foundation. •Develop and pilot innovative ways to connect with donors and prospects.Creates, analyzes, and forecasts annual solicitation projections and works throughout the year to achieve projected goals. This includes generating written gift solicitation proposals as appropriate to prospective high net worth donors.Creates and implements customized strategies for each prospect. This includes setting and meeting goals, objectives and setting significant actions or moves leading to closing gifts.Oversees, records, manages data integrity and tracks planned actions and accomplished moves with constituents in a fundraising database.Cultivates and maintains strong working relationships with faculty and/or selected leaders to identify potential donors and to enhance and engage relationships with current donors to support organization-wide efforts in the philanthropic community.Enthusiastically roll up sleeves to participate in Foundation initiatives including, but not limited to, special events, employee giving.Assist in the identification, cultivation, and solicitation of planned gifts.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree RequiredAdvanced degree PreferredMinimum 2 years experience in fundraising, or a similar field, preferably in a health care or university environment with demonstrated success in major gift fundraising requiredAt least 1 year experience in Management Preferred
