General Information-The Buyer role within the Supply Chain Management organization at Aurora Flight Sciences is responsible for procurement of a diverse portfolio of programs. The Buyer will be a key role in procuring an array of materials for the organization across a variety of programs as part of aircraft development. Procurement of build-to-print parts and commercial off the shelf components are core functions of this role. This is a virtual position.
Type of background you are looking for (education, # yrs experience, etc.): Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain or equivalent work experience in Procurement/Supply Chain Management. Minimum of 3 (three) years' experience as a Buyer. Overall, 5 (five) years' experience in Supply Chain Management.• Open communication with suppliers?: Yes, will communicate with suppliers and internal program team.
Required Skills/Qualifications:• Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain or equivalent work experience in Procurement/Supply Chain Management.• Minimum of 3 (three) years' experience as a Buyer.• Overall 5 (five) years' experience in Supply Chain Management.• Must be a U.S. Person.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:• Experience purchasing Build-to-Print parts from machine shops/fabricators.• Knowledge of compliance acquisition procedures and FAR/DFAR requirements.• Purchasing experience to include development of RFPs, statements of work, evaluation criteria, and source selection criteria.• Excellent communication and relationship building skills to enable effective relationships with suppliers, Engineering, and Program Management.• Experience with both development and production programs in the aerospace industry.• International subcontract experience with working knowledge of import/export compliance and ITAR regulations.
Education / Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+1 years' related work experience , 7 years' related work experience, etc.).
