SUMMARY
The Procurement Specialist plays a vital role in the Supply Chain department, collaborating closely with cross functional management and other team members. Their primary responsibility is to support efficient procurement processes and ensure timely completion of purchasing tasks. This role involves working closely with leadership, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to maintain smooth operations. The Junior Buyer also assists in strategic manufacturing partner relations and contributes to overall company procurement efforts.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIESNegotiates prices and contracts with indirect and some direct suppliersResearches and evaluates vendors to compare pricing and servicesMaintains general industry knowledge of products, commodities and indirect items, providing input on purchasing decisionsReviews Invoices for accuracyCreates and maintains supply chain metrics and leads continuous improvement projectsMaintains external supplier relationships while reporting against KPI'sOversee indirect vendor relationships to ensure timely deliveries, expediting when requiredSelects prospective vendors and negotiates contractsTravels to supplier locations if warrantedStays current with purchasing trends and assists with maintaining current procurement toolsMaintains records of supplier contractsOther duties as requiredREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree or higher required in supply chain, engineering, business, or related field1-3 years of progressively responsible experience in supply chain management, purchasing, inventory, or operationsFamiliarity in MRP/ERP SystemsProficiency in ExcelPREFERRED SKILLS
Strong decision-making, negotiation, and influencing skills.Analytical abilities, including modeling and data analysis.Attention to detail.Adaptability to changing conditions.Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.Demonstrated accountability, initiative, integrity, and maturity.Experience planning and implementing complex processes or projects.
