The United States Capitol Police (USCP) safeguards the Congress, Members of Congress, employees, visitors, and Congressional buildings and grounds from crime, disruption, and terrorism. We protect and secure Congress so it can fulfill its constitutional and legislative responsibilities in a safe, secure, and open environment.In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below.Minimum Qualifications

Qualifying experience for this position includes five years of specialized experience at least equivalent to the CP-12 (GS-14) level. Specialized experience includes:Researching and analyzing legislation to create proposals for initiatives.Handling the most complex and sensitive congressional issues and providing technical guidance to staff.Assisting with department and/or staff offices concerning matters within the area of program and legislative responsibility.Designing and maintaining databases and repositories, such as websites, directories, SharePoint sites, and other methods to organize and store information related to legislative policy and strategy work.All eligibility requirements must be met by the closing date of the vacancy announcement.
