Assistant or Associate Professor of Francophone StudiesThe Department of Classical and Modern Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan (www.clas.wayne.edu/languages/) invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor in Black Francophone Studies to begin August 19, 2024. Ph.D. in French/Francophone studies required by date of appointment. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.Qualifications:University-level teaching experience.Native or near-native fluency in French and English.Responsibilities:Teach all levels of French and Francophone language, literature, and culture.Create courses in Black Francophone Studies in French and English.Develop or establish a scholarly research program in Francophone African Studies.Mentor undergraduate, MA, and PhD students.Teach 2 courses per semester.Wayne State University is a premier urban research university located in vibrant Midtown, the cultural center of Detroit.
