Position Summary PACCAR’s Embedded Engineering department has an opening for an Application Software Engineer in the Autonomous Vehicle Program team. This team is seeking to develop multiple new features to support the creation of a safe and reliable autonomous-enabled truck. Job Functions / Responsibilities Define the embedded system specifications, performance targets, and system interfaces. Strong embedded systems knowledge and hands-on experience in memory management strategies. Hands-on experience with software development tools (Matlab/Simulink). Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Java, or Python, and experience with embedded software development. Experience with version control tools (SVN/GIT). Develop high-level software architectures for embedded applications. Define complex software solutions for the application software. Proven experience in software architecture and development for automotive embedded systems. Experience in working with L3/L4 embedded systems. Excellent problem-solving skills and creativity. Participate in the planning and tracking of software tasks. Test and implement software modifications to repair defects. Lead embedded architecture and electrical integration support. Oversee the development of embedded software modules. Ensure embedded software compliance with relevant automotive safety standards. Develop comprehensive testing procedures and protocols. Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends. Support embedded function owners with functional definitions. Support achievement of SW maturity levels. Strong communication skills. Qualifications

Skills B.S. in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent required. 5-7 years in development & release of automotive or commercial vehicle software preferred. Proficiency with GIT/Java/C++/embedded Linux/Python is required. Experience with data structures, POSIX, Unity, and Open GL is a plus. Proficiency using MATLAB/Simulink, Rational Rhapsody, Subversion (SVN) is desired. Hands-on experience with tools like CANalyzer, CANoe is a plus. Knowledge of automotive communication protocols (CAN, J1939, Ethernet) is a plus. Experience creating documentation including software requirements specifications. Solid understanding of Design for Six Sigma techniques. Willing to learn and use new engineering processes. Experience in product development and new product implementation. Familiarity with PC software including project management tools. Willingness to grow personally and professionally. Travel up to 10% (domestic and international). Why work for PACCAR?
