Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to grant billing, daily cash application, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll processing, and general ledger management.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements, reports, and analysis for management review.
Assist budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
Assist with annual audit process.
File required Federal and State required reports.
Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to senior management.
Manage accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and productive environment.
Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
Qualifications:We are looking for candidates with:
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Masters preferred).
CPA certification (preferred but not mandatory).
Proven experience (5+ years) in a senior accounting or financial management role in non-profit organizations.
Strong understanding of accounting closing processes and financial reporting.
Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
A hands-on person willing to roll up your sleeves to get the job done.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage BusinessWorks).
