We are seeking a subject matter expert to join our Health Systems Quality Assurance (HSQA) Office of Investigative & Legal Service Complaint Intake Unit. As a journey level professional,

Health Services Consultant 2 (HSC 2) , you will serve as lead worker to the complaint intake staff regarding health professions and facilities complaint intake functions, ensuring that the Complaint Intake Specialists, Health Services Consultant 1s, are properly trained. You will also provide guidance, technical expertise, and support to DOH staff as well as health services providers and the public.As a part of our high-performance team, you will identify and resolve highly complex and unique problems and issues related to the complaint intake process, collaborating with team members to ensure best practices and implementation of procedures to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of internal functions and operations. This position takes assignments and direction from the direct supervisor, the OILS operations manager, deputy director or office director. This HSC 2 position directly ties to improving patient safety and fostering access to healthcare in Washington, which are important priorities for the Department of Health and Washington State. Apply now to join our mission-driven team and make a positive impact on the health of our community.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Apply knowledge of OILS complaint process while receiving, processing, forwarding, and closing complaints with a high degree of accuracy.Providing technical consulting and assistance to health service providers and staff, emergency medical providers, and facilities regarding requirements, policies, rules and statutes related to intake and closure of complaints, promoting patient safety.Attend meetings and formal hearings, and respond to inquiries from the HSQA Legal Unit, Investigative Unit, Board/Commission members, and members of the public on matters related to complaint file status.Coordinate and assist with processing interactions among HSQA work units and programs in order to keep workflow and complaints moving toward resolution.Gather, analyze, and report on Performance Management data.Required QualificationsNote: Experience defined below may have been gained through paid or unpaid activities.

One (1) or more years as a complaint intake specialist at the HSC 1 level with the Health Systems Quality Assurance (HSQA) division.OROption 2:

An associate (AA) Degree or higher ando One (1) or more years of experience in: a health services program or health-care related office in a higher-level administrative, regulatory or legal capacity;o One (1) or more years’ experience educating the public on an administrative, health, or legal system;o One (1) or more years of demonstrated experience using organizational skills, including the ability to handle many detailed tasks or projects simultaneously within specific timeframes or deadlines.OROption 3:o Two (2) or more years of experience in: a health services program or health-care related office in a higher-level administrative, regulatory, or legal capacityo Two (2) or more years’ experience educating the public on an administrative, health, or legal system;o Two (2) or more years of demonstrated experience using organizational skills, including the ability to handle many detailed tasks or projects simultaneously within specific timeframes or deadlines.ANDOne (1) or more years’ experience using the Integrated Licensing and Regulatory System database.
