Key Responsibilities: Partner with Programme Management and Medical Affairs organisations, supporting and influencing on clinical programmes & business opportunities through high quality financial modelling & analysis. Facilitate grant and funding administration, consultancy activity, general management, and monitoring of current and proposed trials. Provide input into Strategic and Commercial operations of a growing organisation. Effectively communicate financial aspects to Senior Stakeholders across the business with recommendations. Support stakeholders in financial aspects of forecasts, costs planning, accruals, operating expenses, and CapEx spend; tracking actual performance against budgets and maintaining up-to-date forecasts. Collaborate with Senior Stakeholders / Project owners to aid reporting to the ILT, work with FP&A team to ensure timely monthly and board reporting is delivered to the highest standards. Deliver punctual and accurate financial information, insightful analysis and reporting to enable assigned business area to make well-informed business decisions. Manage tracking and consolidations for in-sourced and out-sourced Clinical trials by carrying out detailed analysis. Own relationships and monthly meetings with CROs, Clinical Project Managers to review each trial. Support line manager with monthly close, calculate monthly accruals after meeting with Clinical trials team and CROs. Support team lead on monthly reporting, deliver comprehensive, consistent analysis and action-oriented reporting reflected through insightful variance analysis of expenditure. Fully understand financial impact of the Group’s supplier external contracts, providing ad-hoc support at the pre-agreement phase where required. Demonstrate understanding of grants and funding for trials, keep track of spend and ensure credible accounting and reporting on monthly and ad hoc basis. Deliver timely monthly reporting across P&L, Cash and Capex, delivering comprehensive, consistent, action-oriented reporting reflected through insightful variance analysis on trial expenditure. Own and deliver forecasts, budget and long-range plans, by leading discussions and positively challenging assumptions. Ensure SOX controls are met for monthly close, journal approvals, contracts approvals and business cases. Responsible for achieving deadlines for monthly & quarterly financial accounting close, SOX controls, reporting. Coordinate with Financial Reporting team to provide information for accounting close process (accruals, prepayment, adjustments) including SOX controls. Carry out monthly reconciliation of GL accounts as well as SOX compliance. Support audit, oversee submission of evidence, address audit queries within deadlines. Interact frequently with Financial Reporting team to ensure the accounting and planning systems are aligned with regards to trial spend and key cost categories. Person Specification: Essential: CRO or Clinical trial finance management experience in Pharma / Biotech. Excellent communication, collaborative and influencing skills. Agile, flexible and team mindset with a Can-do attitude. Able to lead discussions with Senior Non-Finance leadership and positively challenge assumptions. Investigative and details oriented. Advanced knowledge of MS Excel / MS Power point. Experience of using ERP/Accounting Systems. Proven track record of process improvement. Desirable: Pharma or Bio-Tech previous experience Clinical or Medical spend. Proven Commercial Finance business partnering background. Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) or MBA with experience of working in a SOX compliance environment in US Public Limited company. Education & Qualifications: ACA / ACCA / CIMA / MBA or equivalent
