We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Youth Director to lead and oversee our youth ministry. The ideal candidate will have a heart for young people, a strong commitment to their spiritual development, and the ability to create engaging and meaningful experiences. The Youth Director will work closely with church leadership, parents, and volunteers to cultivate a vibrant youth program that aligns with the mission of Saint Paul Methodist Church. We have over 75 children and youth currently active at Saint Paul and we are looking for a captivating leader to build a vital part of our church ministry.This is a full-time position reporting directly to the Senior Minister with competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits, including health care, retirement, and paid time off. PurposeThe Youth Director will lead and oversee our youth ministry, developing a comprehensive program that engages middle and high school students and fosters their spiritual growth.Key ResponsibilitiesA. Youth Ministry – includes Middle and High School studentsDevelop, plan, and implement a comprehensive youth ministry program that is engaging and interactive, fostering meaningful relationships and building foundations for discipleship.Organize and lead weekly youth group meetings, Bible studies, Confirmation Classes, and other fellowship activities.Plan and coordinate special events, retreats, mission trips, and service projects.Collaborate with other ministry leaders to integrate youth into the broader life of both Saint Paul Methodist Church and the Global Methodist Church.Provide a bridge for youth as they transition through life stages, including moving up from our Children’s Ministry into the Youth program and graduating high school to college.Maintain open communication with parents, keeping them informed and engaged in their children’s spiritual growth.Build relationships throughout the congregation and community, focusing on families of youth and children.Recruit, train, and oversee volunteer leaders to assist with youth programs.C. Administrative & OtherManage the youth ministry budget and resources effectively.Stay current with trends and best practices in youth ministry and incorporate them into programs.Perform all other duties as assigned by church leadership.About UsSaint Paul Methodist Church, located in Goldsboro, North Carolina, is a historic downtown church with a long, rich history. Our mission is to Worship God, Grow in Faith, and Serve Others in the name of Jesus.QualificationsMust demonstrate a strong personal relationship with Jesus and a commitment to the mission of Saint Paul.A willingness to adhere to the Global Methodist Church doctrine.Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in education, religious studies, child development, family relations, or a related field.Previous experience working with youth in a ministry or similar setting.Creativity and enthusiasm in developing engaging programs and activities.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to relate to and engage with young people.Ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and parents.Strong organizational and leadership abilities.Must be self-motivated, able to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.The ability and commitment to maintain appropriate confidentiality is required.How To Apply
