We're actively seeking a talented Sr Applications Developer to join our Tech Enablement Team in Newport Beach, CA.

* This role is hybrid. We believe in empowering our employees to get work done both in and out of the office.

As a Sr Applications Developer, you'll move Pacific Life, and your career, forward by leveraging your analytical and cloud engineering skills to build tools and applications for our business partners using a customer-centric approach. You'll join a dedicated, self-organizing, cross-functional team in developing our next generation systems in the AWS cloud.

How you'll help move us forward:Bring a self-starter attitude balancing technical thinking with customer centric solutions.Analyze complex business problems, clarify requirements, and evaluate technology feasibility.Evaluate emerging technologies to identify opportunities and trends that can be leveraged to strengthen the team's development practices.Collaborate with teammates in designing customer-centric workflow design.Advocate and promote software development engineering practices to promote highly scalable and flexible applications.Drive and develop solutions to solve complex problems for Technology.Work with Product Owner to refine backlog, prioritize use cases and drive team understanding.Work closely across technology teams to assist with integration design, development, testing & implementation.Collaborate with architects and engineers to formulate innovative engineering solutions.Effectively communicate complex concepts and results in a clear and effective manner.The experience you bring:Bachelors in Computer Science/Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.8+ years' experience in software development, architecture and/or cloud technologies.Ability to effectively communicate innovative and technical solutions through story-telling.Hands-on experience implementing data integration and API services with AWS cloud technologies.Solid understanding of cloud systems design and software architecture.Expertise on building applications' front-end and back-end.Strong foundation with modern SDLC in various technologies (AWS Services, RDBMS, NOSQL, React, Python, C#, .Net Core, Windows/Linux).Strong knowledge for a variety of automation, integration, and business process management solutions.Experience being part of a fast-paced agile software development team.Desire and ability to train, mentor, and develop technical skills of more junior engineers.What makes you stand out:Experience with Financial Services, Annuities or Insurance products preferred.You can be who you are.People come first here. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location.
