IP Biotechnology Patent Agent

A law firm in Boston, MA, is seeking a highly skilled IP Biotechnology Patent Agent to join its pre-eminent national Intellectual Property Department's Chemical, Biotechnology, and Pharmaceutical Practice Group. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications, both domestically and internationally, and a strong background in biotechnology or related technologies.Duties:Draft and prosecute domestic and international patent applications.Prepare patent opinions related to biotechnology or similar technologies.Conduct legal research and analyze complex technical and legal issues.Collaborate with attorneys and clients to ensure effective patent strategies.Review and interpret patent claims and provide strategic advice.Assist in managing patent portfolios and overseeing patent litigation matters.Requirements:3+ years of experience in patent counseling, including preparation and prosecution.Strong background in biotechnology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or genetics.PhD in biological sciences or a related field.USPTO registration number.Education:PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, or a closely related field.Certifications:USPTO registration number.Skills:Exceptional legal writing and research skills.Excellent written and oral communication abilities.Strong understanding of biotechnology and patent law.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced legal environment.Proven academic excellence and law firm experience.Benefits Offered:Paid Time Off and Paid HolidaysMedical, Dental, and Vision insurance401(k) Retirement PlanDisability and Life InsuranceAdoption AssistanceBackup Care for Dependents
