Key Responsibilities :
Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll and taxes.
Lead year-end financial audit activities and the annual corporate financial controls audit.
Assess current practices and procedures, and make recommendations for improvements that will allow Zero to scale its operations in the US and internationally.
Prepare, review and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Implement accounting policies and procedures that adhere to governmental, financial and tax regulations and comply with GAAP while supporting efficient business operation.
Monitor and evaluate accounting systems and processes to identify areas for improvement and optimization and engage cross-functionally to implement it.
Oversee equity administration.
Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested.
Supervise and/or manage general ledger accounting functions.
Develop staff by setting goals, providing ongoing coaching, managing performance and maintaining strong employee relationships.
Work with external auditors to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting at year-end.
Will be the technical GAAP subject matter expert on most complex/critical areas.
Required Education/Experience :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
10+ years of progressive accounting experience with 3+ years in a supervisory role.
Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
Preferred:
EV and/or manufacturing industry experience.
SAP experience.
Start-up experience.
CPA designation.
Skills and Attributes :

Problem-solving attitude, with a ‘fix it forever’ mindset.
Be a hands-on, self-starter who works well in a fast-paced team environment.

Candidate must be able to sit for long periods of time to perform duties, and to move around and make inquiries from other staff, management as needed.
