The Technical Architect partners with the marketing business and technology teams to define and design software solutions that combine marketing and sales technology with process, automation, and data governance to deliver value for New York Life. The candidate is expected to be able to design solutions across a broad range of technologies including content management, campaign management, data management, content operations, and personalization within the context of the insurance industry.The role requires superior communication and analytics skills to ensure that all aspect of the business’s expectations and needs are met. This role requires the ability to listen and understand the business’s goals and issues, document the business’s needs, and translate the identified needs to a comprehensive solution of processes and technologies. This role requires the ability to balance the business expectations and needs against resource constraints to create viable solutions.Qualified applicants must possess a solid background in demand generation or marketing operations in the financial services industry, with demonstrated expertise with Adobe Experience Cloud technologies. Experience with multiple platforms is a strong plus. Experience with distributed or field marketing solutions is a strong plus.Key ResponsibilitiesWork with various levels of the organization to understand business goals, strategies, capabilities, and processes to ensure business and tech alignment.Develop and maintain a Business, Data and Technology roadmap that aligns with the goals of the Client Prospecting Value Stream.Provide executive level consulting for New York Life’s marketing technology platforms. Facilitate business and Technology alignment through a collaborative, supportive, and consultative manner.Design and present innovative and cost-effective solutions to the enterprise drawing on the current marketing technology landscape and industry best practices to enable a seamless customer experience or customer journey for our clients and agents.Design solutions that meet the business and technology objectives of the business area following the agreed upon policies, standards, and patterns supplied by the Technical centers of enablement.Provide marketing technology operations and governance recommendations and best practices. Deploy governance and conceptual solution architectures within the agile delivery processes to support execution against roadmap.Identify opportunities for improved sequencing while focusing on technical ecosystem simplification, scalability, modernization, and decommissioning opportunities.Work closely with other leaders within and outside the Value Stream, e.g., Product managers, Product Owners, Planning leads, RTEs, Tech Leads and QA Leads to achieve desired results.Reinforces product mindset throughout the Value Stream to focus on the rapid delivery of value to agents and customers.Engages in complex initiatives, guiding teams on effectively identifying and resolving cross-dependencies.Maintain inventory current state Technology stack supporting the value stream and understands financial impact.Maintain Value Stream alignment on core target-state ecosystem and corresponding architectural metrics and financial outcomes.Declare key technology platforms, surfaces potential universal capabilities, and identifies opportunities for consolidation/simplification of legacy systems.In partnership with a Value Stream Delivery Lead, presents gap analysis and/or IT investment roadmaps that reflect the status of the existing IT landscape, namely, its ability to contribute to future-state business capabilities around ecosystems and digital platforms for the scope of the given release train.Responsible for coaching and career development of the resources within their teams, building a strong employee base of highly engaged resources with deep technical skills.Education / TrainingMaster’s or bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field of study is required.Previous ExperienceTen or more years of experience with designing and architecting marketing technology solutions.Five or more years of experience with Adobe Experience Cloud technologies.Five or more years of content management experience.Proven experience in talent development, including hiring, coaching, mentoring, and active feedback.Proven experience in relationship building.Additional Skills / KnowledgeAbility to successfully define outcomes, manage expectations, manage cross-functional initiatives, and meet deadlines based on project requirements.Demonstrated history of building relationships, establishing, and proving credibility, and partnering with business leaders and peers.Facility in discussing technical matters with a non-technical audience.Analytical, with an ability to synthesize information quickly.Quick learner who goes the extra mile to meet or exceed internal professional development requirements.Able to resolve issues independently, analyzing solutions using judgment, knowledge and prior experience; develops a new perspective using existing solutions.Excellent leadership skills with the capability to work closely with other Value Streams, Business Areas, Corporate Functions, Centers for enablement, etc.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including an ability to tailor communication and present at very senior levels, while also being able to dive into the details and the ability to articulate new ideas and concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.Effectively and proactively manages expectations.Proven success in influencing and working effectively across a broad and complex organization to influence process adoption and continuous improvement.Ability to lean into the culture and foster team collaboration, decision-making, and execution.Knowledge of modern technology ecosystems, SaaS, infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), service-oriented architecture (SOA), APIs, open data, microservices, mobile app development, content management system, SSO, cyber security and app scan tools to name a few.Knowledge of information management practices, system development life cycle, IT services, agile and lean methodologies, infrastructure and operations, and EA and ITIL frameworks.Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.Strong consulting skills such as targeted communications, engagement management, stakeholder management, and business development.Salary range:

$155,000-$267,500Discretionary bonus eligible:
