who will accelerate APi’s delivery against its stated goals (services focused, life safety and security, strong free cash flow, margin expansion, and leadership culture), through strategic bolt-on M&A. This role will be involved in the evaluation through due diligence and post-close financial review of deals. This role will work closely with business leaders and cross-functional partners (Finance, Tax, Treasury, Safety, Legal, Human Resources, etc.) to lead across many facets of the M&A process, including deal sourcing, valuation, diligence, and integration/separation planning. The Director will participate in many facets of the M&A process and interact with senior-level executives and external advisors to manage transactions.Responsibilities:Lead the due diligence process for individual acquisitions or divestitures. Program-manage the entire process from kickoff through the final report, including coordination for some functions, and self-perform completion of some due diligence. Drive the process, escalate issues, and self-perform certain financial aspects of the due diligence. Summarize and document the findings from the due diligence and ensure a clean handoff to the integration team.Negotiations:

Lead the negotiation on key terms with the sellers and/or brokers within both the LOI as well as the final purchase agreement.Post-Closing:

Track contingent payments, recalculation of amounts due and coordination with accounting & treasury on release of payments within our governance structure. Periodically review financial results of acquisitions relative to planned results during evaluation.Other:

Review department budget monthly, facilitate reclassifications if needed, provide executive summary, and forecast recommendations. Lead planning effort for M&A team budget. Coordinate projects and initiatives within organizational goals; help plan and execute hosting events for potential M&A targets.Qualifications:10+ years of total experience2+ years of deal experience, including multiple deals, with the M&A deal process either in consulting, investment banking, or industry2+ years public accounting auditing experience strongly preferredBachelor’s degree in finance or accountingUp to 25% travelAbility to handle and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.Strong organization and prioritization skills; ability to pivot.Comfortable driving a process with multiple workstreams.Demonstrated ability to identify, analyze, and communicate risks.Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to lead through influence.Benefits and Compensation:This role will be eligible for hybrid work flexibility based out of our New Brighton office. The pay range is $145,000 - $218,000, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for annual bonus and profit sharing based on company performance in addition to other benefits that support the total well-being of you and your family.
