Chair, Department of Radiation Oncology . The Chair has the opportunity to shape a robust academic department of two medical schools, with a proven reputation of providing high-quality, patient-centered care, research programs, and education.The Chair provides oversight for all operational and programmatic aspects within the discipline of radiation oncology, including clinical radiation oncology, radiation physics, and radiation cancer biology. The Chair is responsible for oversight of all clinical/research activities and mentorship of the researchers/providers assigned. The Chair serves as the Chief of the Radiation Oncology Service.Duties

Administrative

Oversee short- and long-range planning, funding, procurement, and sustainability, and direct professional activities and projects to ensure excellence for the Department.Work directly with the hospital administration in developing appropriate budgets and financial issues as they relate to the clinical operations of the department.Develop and grow the department of radiation oncology, including expansion of currently available services.Ensure appropriate quality improvement and quality control initiatives within the department.Coordinate research efforts in the Department, focusing on areas of clinical investigation.Promote an inclusive and healthy workplace environment for Department employees.Oversee the Radiation Oncology Residency Program, maintaining accreditation and compliance.Research

Promote collaboration between members of CINJ research programs.Conduct NCI-funded and other peer-reviewed research and publish scholarly articles.Teaching

Participate in the teaching of students, residents, and fellows as part of the educational mission of RWJMS.Provide senior-level mentorship for CINJ faculty across disciplines.Service

Serve on appropriate CINJ Leadership Committees.Serve as the hospital’s representative to tumor boards and other community activities related to patient care.Minimum Qualifications

MD or MD/PhD, and Radiation Oncology ACGME accredited residency program.Sustained record of peer-reviewed funding preferred.Meets criteria for Associate Professor to Professor rank.Proven leadership experience, evidenced by clinical and research program development.Special Instructions to Applicants
