With remote offices, Accelergen Energy is a growing renewable energy company headquartered in Austin, Texas. Accelergen has established and is expanding a portfolio of utility scale development stage stand-alone storage and solar + storage projects in key markets across the Western U.S.Accelergen is seeking a proven and motivated leader with strong experience building and managing relationships with utilities, corporate buyers, and energy trading firms. The ideal candidate will have a successful track record of originating off-take and develop/build-transfer agreements for utility-scale renewable energy generation and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects. This is an outstanding opportunity for an individual to significantly contribute to Accelergen’s growth and participate in its shareholder program.The Markets & Origination department is responsible for representing Accelergen in engaging buyers of solar/energy and storage services, structuring and negotiating financeable revenue and build-transfer agreements. This position requires a deep understanding of traded and regulated electricity markets; a proven track record of originating and closing power purchase, tolling, energy storage, and build-transfer, or similar agreements; and a desire to participate in the development and refinement of the company’s market and development strategies.Core Competencies and Qualifications

The successful candidate will have the skills and experience to succeed in leading the market intelligence, offtaker relationships and revenue agreement origination, structuring, and negotiations for the Accelergen portfolio of projects.

7+ years of experience initiating and managing offtake relationships, originating, structuring, negotiating, and closing power purchase agreements and build-transfer type agreements.BA or BS degree (masters a plus) in relevant field.Experience gathering non-public intelligence regarding renewable energy and storage service procurement plans, preferences, and timing.Network of relationships with procurement-related contacts at utility, corporate, cooperative, municipal, wholesale power trading, and retail electric provider customers.Proven ability to collaboratively engage utility and corporate buyers, and power trading firms to represent the company and its projects.Track record of originating, structuring, negotiating, and closing revenue agreements.Strong understanding of US electricity markets, including participants, design, contract structures and financing requirements.Adept at preparing market analysis and recommendations.Dependable teammate with strong initiative to identify, prioritize and execute strategy and tasks in an autonomous environment.Self-starter with critical thinking skills and proven ability to solve complex problems.Desire to work in an entrepreneurial environment.Passion for the renewable energy industry.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Adept at leveraging client engagement/management skills, market knowledge, structuring and negotiation skills as an integral team member to achieve a common goal.Track record of ability to instill confidence as a credible, reliable, and expert resource for team members and potential counterparties.Strong proficiency to express oneself clearly in conversation, business writing, and presentations.Exceptional organizational, decision making/problem solving, analytical, relationship and time management skills.Principal Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will manage all revenue generation relationships, gather, and communicate market intelligence, support development and refinement of Accelergen’s market strategy, and originate, structure and negotiate revenue agreements. Specific duties and responsibilities will include:Lead management of existing and build new collaborative relationships with buyers of renewable energy and storage initially in WECC and SPP markets, including utilities, corporate technology and industrials, electric co-ops, municipalities, and wholesale trading counterparties.Source, analyze, and communicate internally public, and non-public market intelligence regarding utility and corporate renewable energy and storage acquisition plans, progress, and preferences from:Regulatory filings, Advisors, Energy buyer/trade groups, Buyers of renewable energy and storage products, and Utilities seeking to acquire projects.Monitor, analyze, and communicate market rules, regulatory and policy developments relevant to the company’s business plan, strategy, and potential new market opportunities.Contribute, as part of the leadership team, to the development and refinement of the company’s goals and supporting market and corporate strategy.Originate, prepare, and submit bi-lateral and RFP proposals, structure, negotiate and close project revenue agreements, including project sales to utilities.Work collaboratively with internal and external partners to meet/exceed corporate profit and strategic objectives.Work within a multi-disciplined collaboration with Development, Commercial and Grid Analytics, and Finance to develop the project revenue stack, secure financing and support M&A.Collaborate with Grid and Commercial Analytics department engaging RTOs, balancing authorities, and industry trade groups gathering insights on planned grid expansion.Work closely with developers and engineers from a revenue perspective to optimize project design and offtake structures.Engage in industry conferences, events, and associations to enhance Accelergen’s visibility and remain informed of industry trends and best practices.Mentor others in the company to further their understanding of offtake and develop/build-transfer structuring, wholesale market rules/operation and market dynamics.Minimum Qualifications
