Join us and find your next career at MarinHealth.General Summary:The Finance Director assists with all MHMN clinic activities concerned with Finance, including, but not limited to: Financial Performance, Revenue Cycles, Budgets, Internal Controls, Auditing, Account reconciliation, and Financial Statement preparation.Essential Functions and Responsibilities:Essential (not modifiable)Responsible for all Finance functions for MHMNAssists in the annual and ongoing budgeting process, with each clinic.Trains and educates clinic managers and providers on budget, and revenue cycles.Under the direction of the CFO prepares financial reporting documents for MHMN. Monthly narrative, variance, explanation, and ad hoc reporting.Develop finance processes and procedures for MHMN.Coordinates with other departments as necessary to provide data for operational improvement efforts.Review all data necessary for any financial projections, financing, and other related data.Assists in devising, installing, and maintaining internal auditing programs.Review financial statements and make specific recommendations to achieve or exceed budget metric short-term and long-term goals.Facilitate monthly operational reviews with clinic managers and MD leaders.Liaison with UCSF finance and revenue cycle as part of close.Help manage revenue cycle operations with:MHMN leaders to drive required performance and improvement.UCSF revenue cycleReview revenue cycle and clinic operations to make specific improvement recommendations.Review and oversee physician compensation, related models, and changes.Secondary (modifiable)Designs and prepares Ad hoc reports as necessary.Qualifications:Education:High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate required.Bachelors’ degree in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting preferred. CPA or MBA is desirable.Experience:Minimum five years of recent experience in healthcare accounting, outpatient/ambulatory experience preferred. Experience or understanding of Apex EHR coding and billing preferred.Prerequisite Skills:Demonstrated analytical and interpretive ability.Knowledge of theory and practice of budgets and auditing systems.Knowledge of payor reimbursement and fund accounting.Experience with information systems, and budget applications.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with staff at all levels.Experience in accounting software currently in use desirable.Demonstrated strong hands-on leadership in healthcare revenue cycle.Behavioral Standards:We have adopted the following standards of behavior in addition to the job responsibilities listed above so we can create and maintain an optimal workplace environment.
