As a Principal Electrical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing our electrical systems for our product line of premium coffee gear and beyond. Engineering ownership of the electrical design across multiple products from early concept to launchPrototype:
Iterative hands-on prototyping to help validate concepts functionally as well as support the product level decisions or user testingTest:
Develop and drive design and functional validation testing for electrical components during both R&D and NPIDesign for Manufacturing (DFM):
Collaboration with external partners and suppliers to ensure designs can be repeatedly produced at lowest costDocumentation:
Develop production and support documentation including bills of material (BOMs)Continued Improvement:
Expand and improve the team’s capabilities, processes, and expertiseAbility to travel up to 10%Required Experience:MS or BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 7+ years of hardware experience in consumer electronics, power tools, home appliances (or similar relevant industry)Product development from concept to validation to deploymentElectrical schematic entry, PCB design, and layout. Ideally familiarity with Altium DesignerExpert in debugging tools like oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzersDeep understanding of the following:System integrationEmbedded system design including MCU and memory systemsProcessor selectionSensor design and integrationLow and high speed digital data transfer (I2C, SPI, USB, UART, etc.)Sampling and control theory for motors and heatersAC/DC and DC/DC power supply designEMI/EMC best practices and testingDigital signal processing techniquesSignal integrityFamiliarity with manufacturing best practices including DFM and DFT for consumer productsWorking with JDM teams to efficiently and effectively complete programsWorking with contract manufacturers in AsiaCompensation and Benefits:Competitive compensation including employee equity planGenerous paid time off plan401k with company contribution after 6 months of employmentMedical/dental/vision insuranceBetter Yourself Wellness credit & Better Your Community donation matchingMonthly Fitness StipendGenerous discount on Fellow productsBest coffee anywhereSalary Range:
