OverviewThis position has been budgeted for $20.27 - $26.56 per hour depending upon qualifications and is non-negotiable.The mission of Global Campus at San Diego State University is “To be a world leader in delivering innovative educational experiences to all learners, expanding opportunity and transforming lives.” Global Campus serves as a principal University liaison with the greater San Diego community and provides a wide variety of traditional and nontraditional, credit and noncredit educational experiences designed to fit the lifestyle and expectations of international students, working adults and other lifelong learners. In addition, Global Campus provides a range of academic and special programs for individuals and groups at various times, in various locations, and via various modalities, including technology-based programs. Global Campus’s primary audiences include workforce, military, working adults and international constituencies.The International Programs Coordinator covers a wide range of responsibilities in support of SDSU Global Campus programs, including the Semester at SDSU, Winter/Summer Sessions for international students, Global Seminar, Open University and other newly developed programs. This position mostly supports international students and overseas partners, and contributes to program improvement and problem solving.This position is responsible for carrying out administrative support operations and assisting in accomplishing the administrative objectives of a small to medium-sized organizational unit by personally performing the more difficult and responsible administrative support functions. Assignments and projects are varied and complex with longer work cycles and may require specialized knowledge. Administrative support projects often involve coordinating, prioritizing, and monitoring through their completion with accountability for end results individually and tracking work performed by others.Responsibilities
Program Support 40%
Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of international programs and projects.Coordinate with Program Director to project program enrollments and plan for delivery of commensurate student support involving budgets, facilities, IT, marketing, planning and scheduling.Monitor course and program enrollments and analyze enrollment trends for future planning.Assist the Global Campus finance team in collecting student payments, including program tuition, extra units, housing, and activity fees (if applicable).Work with SDSU academic colleges and departments, SDSU Global Campus departments, faculty, staff and other campus units to resolve issues related to International Programs and to achieve other program improvements.Respond to student, partner, staff and faculty inquiries via emails, phone calls, and LiveChat.Use Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and other databases to record student inquiries, requests for assistance and associated communications.Support program-specific activities, such as orientation preparations, orientation coordination with various campus stakeholders, classroom reservations, pre-arrival virtual information sessions, etc.Assist Program Director in creating special session courses for various international programs and/or special cohorts.Coordinate with Global Campus data entry coordinator to ensure course information is entered into appropriate databases in a timely and accurate manner.Create, update, collect and analyze Special Sessions enrollment processes and data. Utilize supplemental data to track demand for courses.Support the creation and implementation of new programs.Conduct research, analyze data, prioritize and make recommendations to Program Director to improve efficiency and the effectiveness of programs.Student Support 40%Serve as main point of contact for international students in various Global Campus international programs.Provide academic support to international students, such as course selection and registration procedures.Respond to students’ queries regarding articulation and course selection.Process scholarship-related correspondence, including support letters, learning agreements, confirmation of arrival, etc.Process student requests for Verification of Enrollment.Hold regular in-person and virtual office hours for student advising.Communicate and ensure students are aware of all programs, colleges and SDSU policies.Administrative Support 15%Update and maintain International Programs manuals.Maintain accurate program documentation, and confidential student and financial files.Assist Program Directors in daily tasks including but not limited to correspondence, digital file management, scheduling appointments, and keeping meeting minutes.Prepare Certificates for the students to be distributed or picked up.Orient new hires student assistants about various programs.Assist with paperwork and procedures as needed in relation to classrooms and administrative tasks.Other Duties as Assigned 5%Qualifications
