DOELife Enrichment Coordinator for Frank Residences - Assisted Living Overview:For more than 150 years, San Francisco Campus for Jewish Living has been a leader in providing homes and services for the aging Bay Area Jewish community and San Franciscans. Driven by the Jewish values of reverence for aging and inclusiveness, we designed and built Frank Residences, our Assisted Living community, to welcome and enrich the lives of older adults of all faiths and beliefs. Reporting to the Memory Care Director, and with oversite by the Director of Campus Programs, the Life Enrichment Coordinator for Frank Residences memory care is responsible for helping plan and facilitate a comprehensive therapeutic activities program designed to meet the needs of residents at all stages of memory loss/cognitive impairment.What you’ll do as a Life Enrichment Coordinator:Provides ongoing opportunities for therapeutic self-expression for persons at all stages of memory loss, using a wide- variety of modalities to optimize resident quality of life and promote the resident’s best ability to function.Facilitates programs that encourage social interaction, reduce isolation/boredom, and reduces the frequency and severity of the challenging behaviors associated with dementia.Creates a positive, caring, and stimulating environment that embraces and respects all residents' unique and diverse personalities and cultural backgrounds.Responsible for documenting records and notesUnderstands and responds to the needs and abilities of the individual residents and families, which will vary, and must be able to carry out activities with these differences in mind.Why you should work for us as a Life Enrichment Coordinator:Competitive wagesMedicalVisionPaid time offEligible employees can sign up for 403(b) with matching contributionsWeekday shuttle service provided to and from Glen Park BART stationFor you to be a successful Life Enrichment Coordinator:BA/BS in a related field; rec therapy, psychology, health care, geriatrics, Master’s degree preferredExcellent group leadership skills, organizational and communication skills, requiredCreative, flexible, energetic, self-motivated, innovative thinker, ability to work alone and within an interdisciplinary teamAbility to work with people of diverse backgrounds, cultures, religions, etc., required.Sensitive to varying levels of physical and emotional health
