is seeking to hire an

Adult Learner Recruitment Counselor.

The Adult Learner Recruitment Counselor (ALRC) facilitates admissions for adult learners at the University of Maine at Fort Kent (UMFK). Responsible for admissions, recruitment, and application counseling, and providing demographic data to aid strategies and planning, the ALRC is the primary contact for prospective adult learner students, guiding them from inquiry to admissions. This role provides direct support to students inquiring about adult online degree completion programs at UMFK.

This is an on-campus position that may require occasional evenings and weekends. This position requires travel.

The normal annual salary for this position is

$44,290

depending on skills and experience. The University System provides competitive

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Supports the implementation of the Adult Learner Program.

Recruits students by effectively managing geographic territories, scheduling and performing recruitment presentations at schools, college fairs, or other appropriate locations and events, and conducting informational meetings and interviews.

Guides prospective students according to the likelihood of their eventual admissions and effectively guides them through the application process from inquiry to admissions.

Builds relationships with internal and external contacts focused on adult degree completion.

Gathers admissions data for adult learner recruitment and assessment for grant tracking and reporting. Develops data tracking processes for admissions tracking around adult learner inquiries, applications, and admissions.

Manages administrative time, including developing and maintaining a travel schedule that supports marketing initiatives, data entry of contacts (inquiries and prospective students) through appropriate electronic databases, conferring with admissions staff, and restocking of travel materials. Runs regular and ad hoc reports under the guidance of the Director of Admissions.

Coordinates with relevant academic departments.

Guides potential students in program selection based on their goals.

Supports the New Mainer population, particularly related to documentation of English Language Learners (ELL) and other Adult Learners' educational documents.

Plans and executes recruitment events for adult learners, both virtual and in-person.

Engages with prospective and online program students to ensure support and success.

Maintains sufficient office hours to function as an active, informed member of the UMFK.

Ensures regular communication with prospective students through appropriate faculty members and administrators.

Contributes to process and procedure improvements.

Maintains appropriate Admissions-related memberships.

Some travel may be required, including some nights and weekends. Overnight travel will require being away from home for periods of time.

Works and drives for extended periods and has the ability to load, unload, transport, and assemble display materials. A valid, unrestricted state driver's license and ability to travel are required.

Qualifications (required and preferred)

Required:

Bachelor's degree in education, communications, marketing, business administration, or related field.

Experience in recruitment, student recruitment, or higher education.

Understanding of the unique needs of adult learners, online students, and immigrant students.

Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Experience working with diverse students and communities.

Commitment to diversity and equity.

Strong written and oral communication skills.

Detail-oriented, driven, self-motivated, and organized.

Ability to travel.

Preferred:

Degree in a relevant field.

Experience with CRM, preferably Salesforce, MaineStreet/Peoplesoft.

Experience developing strategic recruitment plans using data-driven metrics.

Experience leading online admissions growth.

Experience in Admissions or Academic Advisor for online students.

Experience with data collection and organization.
