Statement of the job

The University of Maine at Fort Kent is looking to hire a

full time Administrative Specialist CL2

for forty hours per week. This position will be a split position with 20 hours per week in the Division of Natural Sciences and 20 hours per week, in the TRIO/ Student Success Center.

This position will work closely with Division Dean, Unit Chairs and Program Leads, assist faculty and students, coordinate and set up meetings, manage calendars, process accounts payable for the department, assist with projects, and perform general administrative duties. They will also provide support to the Student Success Center by ensuring timely response and access to the variety of services that are provided.

The successful candidate will communicate both verbally and in writing with a variety of individuals including university staff, students, and the general public. They will be proficient in all MS Office, PeopleSoft and Google applications and will have the ability to perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned. The Administrative Specialist will work independently with considerable discretion and initiative.

The starting rate is $18.22 for a new hire or the appropriate transfer rate for a current employee within the ACSUM collective bargaining unit. In addition the University will contribute up to a 4% matching contribution to the UMS retirement plan. Additional benefits include medical, dental, vision, and tuition waiver programs for employees and dependents.
