Assist patent attorneys with the preparation and prosecution of patent applications.Collaborate with inventors to understand and document newly created products.Identify patentable inventions and conduct comprehensive research on current patented technologies.Draft patent applications with the support of the patent team.Track the patent application process from initial filing to granted patent, ensuring deadlines and requirements are met.Conduct regular ability searches to support patent applications.Address client challenges and respond to client inquiries with practical solutions.Respond to office actions and correspond with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.Consistently meet billable hour requirements as set by the firm.Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering.Master’s Degree or PhD preferred.USPTO Registration required.Minimum of 1 year of professional experience; 2+ years preferred.Background in Electrical Engineering or Biotechnology and prior experience in patent law is highly desirable.Skills
Strong technical knowledge in relevant fields (Electrical Engineering or Biotechnology).Proficiency in drafting and prosecuting patent applications.Excellent research skills to identify patentable inventions and current patented technologies.Effective communication skills for interacting with clients and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines consistently.Problem-solving skills to address client needs and challenges.
