The ideal candidate will work closely with inventors on newly created products, support the identification of patentable inventions, and contribute to the overall patent application process.Duties and Responsibilities:Assist patent attorneys with the preparation and prosecution of patent applications.Collaborate with inventors to understand and document newly created products.Identify patentable inventions and guide patentability.Research current patented technologies to ensure innovative and patentable work.Draft and prepare patent applications with the assistance of the patent team.Monitor and track the patent application process from initial submission to granted patent.Perform regular ability searches and keep abreast of technological advancements.Address and resolve client challenges, responding to client needs promptly.Respond to office actions and correspond with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).Consistently meet billable hour requirements set by the firm.Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering; Master’s or PhD preferred.USPTO Registration required.1 year of professional experience; 2+ years preferred.Background in electrical engineering or biotechnology is desirable.Prior experience working in the area of patent law is advantageous.Skills:Strong knowledge of patent laws and procedures.Excellent research and analytical skills.Proficiency in drafting and preparing patent applications.Ability to effectively communicate with inventors, clients, and USPTO.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Capability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.Problem-solving skills and client-oriented approach.
