The Office of Student Conduct is seeking a part-time (19 hours/week), Program Educator, preferably available Tuesday through Thursday afternoons. The office operates Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm, and hours shall occur during this timeframe. This position plays an important role in the operations of the Office of Student Conduct by providing educational programming and office support.

The Program Educator will implement the Brief Alcohol Screening Intervention for College Students (BASICS), the Cannabis Screening Intervention for College Students (CASICS), the Student High Risk Intervention for First-Time Alcohol Violations (SHIFT), and the Decision-making and Accountability Workshop. These programs are designed for students found responsible for violating the university policies listed in the Student Code of Conduct.

The Program Educator will provide feedback to the Assistant Dean of Student Conduct and the Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor regarding student participant’s needs for additional services when needed. These needs may include, but are not limited to, mental health concerns, sexual assault, drug and alcohol use, academic challenges, and housing and food insecurity.

The Program Educator will assist in the development and implementation of activities which gather data related to the implementation of all interventions. Data gathered from assessment activities will be used to enhance the programs and initiate changes needed to strengthen the retention and persistence goals of the department.

The Program Educator will assist the Administrative Assistant III in opening and closing case files as workloads demand, in addition to front desk and phone coverage as needed.

Required Qualifications

Graduate student in good academic standing

Maintain the security of sensitive and/or confidential information

Good verbal and written communication

Strong attention to detail

Manage time and work independently, including setting timelines and meeting deadlines

Present oneself professionally when interacting with others

Follow and apply written and oral instructions

Manage multiple duties, projects, and assignments, while meeting established deadlines

Operate standard office machines (e.g.: personal computers, scanners, multi-line phones, and copiers)

Computer and application proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook

Familiarity with using social media platforms (e.g.: Instagram and Canva)

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with a background in working effectively with young adults from diverse backgrounds and experiences are encouraged to apply.

19 hours per week

Compensation Grade

LOA Hourly

$22.00 per hour

Grants-in-aid for letters of appointment (LOAs)
