Job Description

The Zandawala Lab in the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at the University of Nevada, Reno seeks a postdoctoral researcher. The Zandawala Lab has several ongoing projects in the lab revolving around neuropeptide evolution, function, and neural circuit tracing. The successful applicant will work as part of a team on these projects but will primarily develop their own project depending on their interest and future goals. There are no restrictions on topic or direction as long as it focuses around neuromodulation.

Required Qualifications

Ph.D in Neuroscience, Bioinformatics, Molecular Genetics or related discipline.

Completion of a doctoral degree in the appropriate discipline is required.

The doctoral degree must have been completed within the five years immediately preceding the first date of appointment as a postdoctoral fellow at the University.

The individual cannot have held previous positions in the professional ranks.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience with

Drosophila

(or other anthropods) and/or programming skills is a plus but not required.

Compensation GradePostdoctoral Scholar. Salary is competitive and commensurate with related education and experience.
