The successful admissions counselor exhibits superior customer service skills and professionalism throughout daily interactions and communications with students.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Good computer skills necessary in order to set up document formats in Word, Excel, and any other software required by this position. Banner experience is preferred.Good verbal communication skills. Must be able to effectively interact with administration, faculty, staff and other outside contacts.Ability to handle detail-oriented assignments and maintain confidentiality.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be flexible in job assignments.Organizational skills necessary in order to prioritize workload.Required Qualifications:Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred, or any combination of education and experience that provides the required skills and ability. Minimum of one to two years of experience in university admissions and recruitment or a similar recruitment setting.Key Responsibilities:Setting up one-on-one enrollment appointments via phone outreach with prospective students.Cultivate prospective student relationships using phone and email correspondence.Conduct face-to-face, telephone appointments and e-mail correspondence to identify adult student prospects.Provide superior customer service when interacting with prospective students.Document all activity in the database management system in a timely and accurate manner.Participate in appropriate recruitment and enrollment activities, including campus tours, open houses, info sessions, etc.Meet admissions department daily, weekly, and quarterly productivity goals.Provide continuous evaluation of processes and procedures.Perform other duties as assigned.Work Schedule: Typical hours are Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm but may include occasional evenings and/or weekends.Expected Pay Scale: Minimum $20.00, Maximum $21.60Physical Demands
