The Associate Dean for Academic Affairs plays a pivotal role in the OPCVM leadership team, collaborating with the Dean, faculty, and staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality educational programs. They are responsible for the strategic planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of the academic curriculum and policies, faculty affairs and development, veterinary student affairs and assessment for the CVM. The Associate Dean will work in conjunction with the Dean to ensure that the college's vision, strategic direction, and priorities are implemented effectively.Required Qualifications:DVM degree (or equivalent);Three (3) years prior experience in a high-level administrative or supervisory role in a veterinary medical college;Five (5) years of experience in a veterinary medical academic environment with an understanding of the academic environment and curriculum development.Preferred Qualifications:Advanced degree and/or specialty board certification;Successful background in course, curricular or academic program development;Expertise in managing a complex budget and staff, faculty, and student workers;Experience with Team-based Learning.Physical Demands:Campus:

Orange Park, FloridaJob Duties:Curriculum Development:

Lead the development and enhancement of the veterinary curriculum, ensuring alignment with accreditation standards and industry best practices.Academic Program Management:

Oversee all aspects of academic programs, including scheduling, faculty assignments, student progress tracking, and academic advising. Oversee the planning, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of all CVM courses and graduate programs.Accreditation Compliance:

Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and facilitate accreditation processes and reporting.Faculty Development:

Support faculty in their teaching, scholarship, and professional development endeavors.Student Affairs:

Collaborate with student affairs staff to enhance student engagement, support, and success.NAVLE Preparation:

Develop and deliver a comprehensive preparatory effort geared toward NAVLE success, working with faculty to develop and deliver organized material, workshops and seminars both in the preclinical and clinical years.Admissions:

Provide strategic leadership and oversight to the DVM admissions process in conjunction with the Director of Admissions.Budget and Resource Management:

Develop and manage the academic affairs budget and allocate resources effectively.Management of Faculty and Staff:

Manage faculty and staff in the academic affairs department, including recruitment, development, and evaluation.Assessment:

Provide strategic leadership and oversight to the Outcomes and Assessment Office. Coordinate the development and implementation of teaching assessment and improvement programs, student assessment and academic interventions. Integrate collected assessment measures into ongoing curricular improvement.Service and Research:

Participate in departmental and university committees and activities.Other Duties:
