Position Description

Do you enjoy working with people? Do you want to have fun while gaining skills for your career…and get paid while doing it?

Office Assistants (OAs) are the first point of contact for the Career Center and must provide stellar customer service to a wide variety of visitors (students, alumni, faculty, staff, and community members). OAs provide general office support, data entry, appointment scheduling, and maintain the Handshake online platform, all while working in a fun and supportive environment.

On-going training provided to equip OAs to do their jobs and to aid in their own career preparation for internships and after graduation career plans.

4-6 hours per week available during fall semesterSuccessful applicants must be able to work those 4-6 hours during the following times:

Mondays 11am-3pmTuesdays 9am-12:30pm, 3-5pmWednesdays 11am-3pmThursdays 9am-12:30pm, 3-5pm

Responsibilities

General office management, including greeting and checking in visitors (in-person and virtually), answering phones, tracking and responding to messagesHandshake duties, including scheduling coaching appointments, monitor and approve postings, event trackingInitiate career assessment codesAssist with the setup, implementation, and/or tear down of Career Center eventsOther duties as assignedQualifications
