The Juvenile Justice Specialist 5 title has a Special Entrance Rate of $1,971.20 biweekly. The incumbent will serve as the operations shift supervisor for Acadiana Center for Youth.No Civil Service test score is required in order to be considered for this vacancy. Applicants are responsible for checking the status of their application to determine where they are in the recruitment process.Minimum Qualifications:Possession of a high school diploma or GED plus three years of experience in a residential, correctional, mental health, or group home setting with responsibility for one or more of the following: rehabilitation of delinquent youth, clinical care, custody, or security. OR Three years of experience in Probation and Parole.Substitutions:

One year of continuous employment in any field of work will substitute for the high school diploma or GED.Necessary Special Requirement:

Must have attained eighteenth birthday at the time of application.An applicant who has been convicted of a felony or who is under indictment on a felony charge will be disqualified until relief from the disabilities imposed by state and federal laws is granted.Job Concepts:FUNCTION OF WORK: To ensure that investigative matters are handled in an appropriate and timely manner, and to establish and maintain accident prevention and sanitation programs.LEVEL OF WORK: Experienced.SUPERVISION RECEIVED: General from an agency administrator.SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Functional supervision is exercised over all facility staff in regard to investigative procedures.EXAMPLES OF WORK: Serves as shift supervisor and unit manager, chief investigator, reviews disciplinary actions against youth and staff, establishes and conducts education and training programs, serves as a safety officer, compiles accident statistics, participates in audits, and prepares reports of facility activities.Additional Information:NOTE: Prior to an appointment, the selected applicant must take and pass a drug screening test, possess a valid Louisiana Driver's License and clear a background check.
