Continuous AnnouncementThis vacancy is located at the Acadiana Center for Youth in Bunkie, Louisiana.Salary Information:Juvenile Justice Specialist 1: $1,400.00 biweeklyJuvenile Justice Specialist 2: $1,504.00 biweeklyJuvenile Justice Specialist 3: $1,608.80 biweeklyJuvenile Justice Specialists working at secure care facilities are also eligible to earn an additional $2.00 for every regular hour worked.Minimum Qualifications:Possession of a high school diploma or GED. One year of continuous employment in any field of work will substitute for the high school diploma or GED. Must have attained eighteenth birthday at the time of application. Applicants with felony convictions or under indictment will be disqualified.Job Concepts:FUNCTION OF WORK: To provide security of youth and assist in clinical treatment for individuals judicially remanded to the facility.Examples of Work:Receives on-the-job training in various areas of the unit.Maintains locked doors and gates as per facility policy.Monitors youth movement and provides youth count.Makes security checks of buildings and grounds.Responds to emergency situations such as riots or fire.Assists in maintaining records for each youth.Participates in therapeutic activities with youth.Maintains a safe and sanitary environment for youth.Additional Information:Prior to an appointment, the selected applicant must take and pass a drug screening test, possess a valid Louisiana Driver's License, and clear a background check.The Office of Juvenile Justice is a State as a Model Employer (SAME) agency that supports improved employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities.For further information about this vacancy, contact Garilyn London at Garilyn.London@la.gov.
