Location: St. Martinville, LouisianaSalary: $3,033.33 - $3,905.00 MonthlyJob Type: ClassifiedJob Number: 403ACYSM-JJS123-CONTINUOUSDepartment: Office of Juvenile JusticeOpening Date: 08/31/2023Minimum Qualifications:Possession of a high school diploma or GED.One year of continuous employment in any field of work will substitute for the high school diploma or GED.Necessary Special Requirement:Must have attained eighteenth birthday at the time of application.An applicant who has been convicted of a felony or who is under indictment on a felony charge will be disqualified until relief from disabilities imposed by state and federal laws is granted.In accordance with the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA), an applicant who has been found to have engaged in any form of sexual abuse will be disqualified.Function of Work:To provide security of youth and assist in application of clinical treatment in accomplishing the overall goal of evaluation and/or treatment of individuals judicially remanded to the facility.Examples of Work:Receives on-the-job training in various areas of the unit by security and treatment personnel.Maintains locked doors and gates as per facility policy.Monitors youth movement and provides youth count as per facility policy.Responds to order to report to duty during elopement and mans duty stations as assigned.Maintains adequate records for each youth in their assigned area for unusual happenings.Note: Prior to an appointment, the selected applicant must take and pass a drug screening test, possess a valid Louisiana Driver's License and clear a background check.This agency participates in the E-Verify system for verification of citizenship and employment authorization.For further information about this vacancy contact:Justin Walker, SHRM-CPOJJ Human Resources DivisionJustin.Walker2@la.gov
