Job Description:About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced and dynamic Vice President of Product Engineering to join our executive team. In this critical leadership position, you will be responsible for shaping the strategic direction of our product development efforts, driving innovation, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of our customers. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, marketing, and customer success, to create and execute a cohesive product strategy. This role requires a visionary leader with a strong technical background, excellent management skills, and a passion for building cutting-edge products that drive business growth.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute a comprehensive product engineering strategy that aligns with the company's overall vision and business objectives.

Lead, mentor, and inspire a diverse team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Oversee the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from concept and design to development, testing, and deployment, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.

Drive technological innovation within the organization, staying ahead of industry trends and identifying opportunities for new product features and enhancements.

Work closely with the product management team to understand market needs, define product roadmaps, and prioritize development efforts.

Implement robust quality assurance processes to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of our products.

Allocate resources effectively, balancing short-term demands with long-term strategic goals.

Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, providing updates on product engineering progress and addressing any concerns or issues.

Manage the product engineering budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and alignment with financial goals.

Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure the successful delivery of products.

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum of 10 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing product development.

Strong technical background with hands-on experience in software development, architecture, and system design.

Proven ability to lead and inspire engineering teams, with a track record of building and scaling high-performing teams.

Ability to think strategically and translate business goals into actionable engineering plans.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships across the organization.

Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools, with a focus on Agile and Lean practices.

Passion for technology and innovation, with a deep understanding of current and emerging trends in software development.

Experience in managing budgets and resources effectively to achieve organizational goals.

Strong customer focus with a commitment to delivering products that exceed customer expectations.

Hiring Range:$269,800 - $371,000 - for Primary Location of USA - CA - Palo Alto

The specific rate will depend on the successful candidate's qualifications and prior experience.

In addition to competitive base pay, this position also includes an annual incentive opportunity based on target achievement, pre-IPO stock options, benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with a match, and more, plus generous paid time off, paid holidays, paid day off for your birthday and other paid leave policies to support employees through all phases of life.
