FLSA Status:Exempt

Scope:Lead and direct the golf course’s overall operation through maintaining quality standards, maximizing profits, developing and retaining employees and exceeding guest expectations.

Primary Responsibilities include:

Lead and direct all departments including golf operations, food and beverage, sales, merchandising, and agronomy, ensuring all departments achieve goals and maintain strong working relationships.

Partner closely with the Corporate Revenue, Sales and Marketing teams to create and execute programming, marketing plans, sales and pricing strategies.

Ensure financial targets are met and appropriate accounting procedures are consistently followed. Monitor forecasts and results daily/weekly and adjust as needed to achieve targets.

Create and execute short-term and long-term operational and financial plans for the club.

Responsible for the selection, development, leadership, and retention of talented staff.

Ensure compliance with national programs such as Players Club, Core Beverage Program, Menu Program, Approved Product List, and Beverage Cartender program.

Ensure proper controls are in place to accurately track revenues, payroll, inventories, and expenses.

Ensure staff provides excellent guest service. Review guest and member surveys and feedback and determine appropriate action plans.

Ensure the golf course complies with all federal, state, and local laws.

Qualifications:

Five years of leadership experience in the golf, service, or hospitality industry preferred.

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferred.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making capabilities.

Ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.

Effectively builds strong relationships, leads, and develops a team.

The major responsibility in this position is to oversee all major operations of the golf course departments. Therefore, significant time will be spent moving about the property, listening to and speaking with guests and employees. Strong leadership and problem-solving skills will be used. This person will need strong speaking, reading, and writing skills for effective communication throughout the golf course.

The majority of time is spent interpreting and analyzing business records, statistical reports, and financial reports. Mathematical skills are needed, including basic math, problem solving, reasoning, negotiating, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, variances, and percentages.

This person will occasionally assist in carrying heavy items requiring lifting of up to 50 pounds and will spend some time moving about the golf course overseeing various departments.
