Join us.ATI is currently looking for a Welding Leader to join our facility located in Cudahy, WI. The Welding Leader is responsible for maintaining part movement priorities and the analyzation of salvaged parts to determine rework based on means and method of repair, cost, timeline, and customer specifications.In order to become successful and provide immediate impact, you will have to quickly learn ATI’s facility, processes and culture. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including a unionized workforce, engineering, quality, and safety. Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, the ability to act quickly and make impactful decisions, and exceptional interpersonal skills are essential in the skillset of a successful Welding Leader.PRIMARY ACTIVITIES:Supervises and coordinates the work of welding and torch cutting employees to assure specifications, methods, and safety of personnel and equipment are met.Evaluate and monitor the initial measurements of dimensional accuracy in department of finished weldments and torch cut fabricated materials. Provide necessary support to ensure continued compliance to ISO 9002/AS 9100A.Preplan and instruct employees through safety meetings, job safety observations, job safety analysis, and safety cards to strive for a goal of zero accidents, consistent with the ATI Forging Safety Program.Train new or transferred employees on procedures, safety equipment, safety devices, and customer requirements to ensure a high standard of workmanship.Encourage hourly employees to participate in company programs to solve problems. Handle first stage grievances to resolve or make recommendations for next step of grievance procedure.Maintain and coordinate a good working relationship with support personnel in Hammer Repair, Heat Treat, Met. Lab., Engineering, Die Room, Tool Room, Scheduling, Planning and Production Departments to meet customer and ATI Specialty Materials plant requirements.Basic Requirements:High School GED or equivalent2+ years experience in a leadership role or managing a team4+ years of experience in welding and welding proceduresPreferred:Associates DegreeExperience in Shielded metal arc welding, Gas metal arc welding, and/or Submerged arc weldingTool and Die experienceEssential Skills:Ability to use ERP software, Microsoft Office, email, and other software used in the production environmentKnowledge of metallurgy, blueprint reading, OSHA regulations, contractual agreementsSound communication skillsWorking knowledge of the manufacturing processes are necessary to resolve quality and scheduling problems.Status:
