Job Purpose:The Payroll Manager is responsible for managing all payroll processes and systems to ensure efficient and accurate delivery of the organization’s payroll. The Payroll Manager is required to maintain strong internal controls and confidentiality of private information to remain compliant with appropriate regulatory requirements.
Essential Job Functions:Ensures the payroll system is functioning properly, which includes resolving system issues, managing system upgrades, maintaining data integrity standards, and managing the vendor relationship.Manages payroll processes and conducts regular reviews to recommend improvements to the Chief Financial Officer.Develops standard and custom reports for the purpose of payroll data analysis to stakeholders, both internal and external.Establishes controls to maintain compliance with employment legislation and regulatory guidelines.Remains current with regulatory changes and the impact on payroll processes, preparing the payroll team for any changes.Conducts payroll data quality audits and investigates discrepancies with appropriate stakeholders.Maintains confidentiality of sensitive data.Manages the reconciliation process, both for each pay period and year-end.Manages a team of payroll specialists. Provides feedback and coaching and conducts performance reviews and additional people management activities. Works with the talent acquisition team on hiring efforts.
Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Human Resources, Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll.Proficiency with payroll systems (e.g. Ceridian Dayforce [preferred], ADP, Workday) and the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications:Payroll certification (e.g. CPM, PCP)A minimum of 3 years of people management experience.

Work Environment:This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:Normal payroll activities may require working outside of standard business hours. Days and hours of full–time position are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
