Plans for and administers programs providing services to Northern Arapaho Tribal members and other eligible Native Americans in accordance with the Tribe's stated purpose and in such a manner that optimum results are achieved in relation to the resources and goals of the Tribe. Essential Functions

Key areas of responsibility include: Program Planning and Development:

Recommends and/or provides input on proposed new programs. General Administration:

Serves as professional advisor to the Northern Arapaho Business Council; recommends appropriate policies; carries out directives; reports accurately on Tribal programs; interprets program needs; responsible for succession planning; assures conducive work environment; assists in community information programs; ensures fundraising opportunities are exploited; protects the Tribe from legal threats; responsible for overall success and efficient operation of Tribal services; maintains awareness of external trends; responsible for implementation of the strategic plan; provides consultation for Tribal budgets. Personnel:

Mentors and develops skills of key directors. Public Relations:

Interprets the function of the Tribe to the community; maintains productive relationships with agencies and organizations; represents the Tribe. Northern Arapaho Business Council Relations:

Develops and recommends plans for Tribal programs; maintains relations with the Council; recommends meeting agendas; interprets trends in the field. Working Conditions

Lifting Requirements:

Light work, exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently. Physical Requirements:

Stand or sit, walk, use hands/fingers, stoop, kneel, talk/hear, see, pushing/pulling, repetitive motion. Equipment and Tools:

Computer, fax, scanner, copier, and other office equipment. Drives personal vehicle. Travel:

Local, in-state, out-of-state. Regular travel is required. Qualifications

Education: Advanced Degree in Business Management, Public Administration or related field. Experience: Seven to Ten years of supervisory and management experience. Experience with Tribal government functions. Experience in Strategic Planning. Experience with self-governance and social welfare programs. Experience with public agencies and community organizations. Experience with grants and contracts management. License/Certification: Valid Wyoming Driver's license. Special Skills: Effective problem-solving, negotiation, and leadership skills. Ability to recognize and resolve conflict. Strong interpersonal skills. Knowledge of Arapaho Indian Tribe's history and governance. Ability to attend public meetings and give presentations. Willing to work a flexible schedule.
