The UL Americorps Program Director reports to the Dean of Community Service and is responsible for all aspects of program management. Duties include, but are not limited to:Leadership and strategic planning mirroring the service commitment of the university, as well as maintaining direction for Louisiana’s only university-affiliated chapter of the nation’s leading domestic service organization.Working closely with the Volunteer Louisiana Commission, the UL Lafayette Office of Community Service, community site partners, subject experts, and other community stakeholders to market, execute, document, evaluate, and replicate mission-based immersive volunteer and national service programming.Work closely with the Office of First-Year Experience to develop curriculum for first-year students’ community-service efforts.Manage e-grant writing and editing.Collect, analyze and submit quarterly reports to Volunteer Louisiana (Baton Rouge).Develop sponsor and service site partnerships including Lafayette Habitat for Humanity, Lafayette Parish School System, Parish Proud, the Acadiana area United Way, Moncus Park, and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.Maintain compliance with Federal, State, and University policies.Facilitate, organize and implement all program activities including orientation, training, national service, and “life-after AmeriCorps” team member support.Create, revise, and refine personnel and organizational manuals, policies, scheduling procedures, and incentives and benefits for staff members, AmeriCorps team members, and site partners.Maintain a work schedule that requires unconventional hours and some travel.Candidates must be willing to travel and work non-traditional hours.Qualifications:Required Qualifications:- One year of national community servicePreferred Qualifications:- Organizational, communication, and leadership skills, as well as relevant professional experience.- Knowledge of or experience with national service is preferred.- Candidates must have a strong interest in the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and community service activities in the Lafayette area.
