This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to work from the client’s site three times a week.The roleThis freelance Vice President, Project Manager role provides oversight and direction to cross-functional and embedded teams responsible for piloting and then deploying a two-way communication app for a Detroit-based auto manufacturer. This role requires the person to influence and guide the team, building consistency and continuity throughout the pilot, deployment, and sustaining phases. The Vice President, Project Manager will work with digital content creators to oversee the development and execution of the digital content strategy, fostering an active and engaged community on the app across this automaker’s manufacturing sites. This role focuses on driving employee engagement through integrated communications initiatives, leveraging data-driven insights and a keen understanding of the needs and desires of this automaker’s workforce. This person will report to an executive at the automaker along with an executive at Weber Shandwick.ResponsibilitiesProject definition and monitoring project progress with milestones and deadlinesDetailed project management such as sequencing activities, estimating duration of activities, developing a detailed schedule, maintaining a schedule to completion, solving and elevating issues, managing the project scope, ensuring stakeholder satisfaction, providing regular reports and project reconciliationPredict and elevate delays that may occur with the project, have a plan for change or project expansion throughout the projectLead creative digital communications content strategy development in alignment with business goals and manage content calendarsUnderstand and represent the voice of the user to ensure a seamless employee experience across all digital touchpoints.Utilize data and analytics to drive performance outcomesSupport Plant Communications Managers in local deploymentsCore SkillsBachelor’s Degree10+ years professional experience in internal and/or external communicationsIncredible written and verbal communication skillsExperience working with senior executivesExcellent project management skills; large scale project success is a plusTenured experience with large, complex organizational change management and the development and execution of communications strategy with proven resultsAbility to see the bigger picture of what needs to be done, remain unflappable under pressure, and stay nimble if change is needed.Digital and social media content development and publishing; employer brand content is a plusData analytics and measurementDesire to engage leaders and teams as part of a community and help them feel proud of the company and our vision.Weber Shandwick is proud to be an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
