The Senior Manufacturing Director | Site Leader is responsible for all safety, quality, operational and security, and people aspects in our Nathan Lane facility in Plymouth, Minnesota. This position leads all phases of manufacturing and technical functions to advance existing technology to produce the highest quality products. This role works with leaders from various businesses and functions within the Central Region Manufacturing platform. This leader embraces innovation, leading transformation, and continuous improvement, to drive business performance through the alignment of people, strategy, and culture.

This position reports to the VP, Manufacturing, for the Central Region platform.

The Senior Manufacturing Director | Site Leader is responsible for leveraging our MPS (Medtronic Performance System) to establish Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost (SQDC) targets to run the business, select the key initiatives and projects to improve the business, and collaborate with the Operating Unit and Global Supply Chain functions to set breakthrough objectives and capacity planning to transform the business.

A Day in the Life

Lead and build winning teams to further our mission: alleviate pain, restore health, and extend life by building products in a safe working environment with the highest quality and speed at the most optimal cost.

Leading by example in the use of MPS (Medtronic Performance System) to drive continuous improvement and talent development.

Develop, implement, and execute, comprehensive operations strategies that assure success of the organization and accountability for safety, quality, production, cost, and people.

Plan and administer budgets, including making budgetary recommendations on capital expenditures and direct/indirect labor.

Implement cost reduction, waste reduction, quality improvement, and productivity improvement programs to ensure attainment of key performance metrics and sustainable performance improvements.

Represent Medtronic in the community and in professional organizations at a local or regional level.

Must Have: Minimum RequirementsTo be considered for this role, please ensure the minimum requirements are evident on your resume.

Bachelor's degree required.

Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience with 10+ years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 13 years of relevant experience with 10 years of managerial experience.

Nice to Have:

Degree in Engineering or Technical Sciences.

Medical Device Manufacturing experience.

Breadth of background across numerous roles/functions within Manufacturing and Supply Chain with demonstrated success in each area.

DMAIC Lean / Six Sigma Certification.

Proven track record of delivering results in a high-performance continuous improvement environment.

Plant manager experience in a large manufacturing facility.

Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing systems.

Demonstrated ability to develop and successfully execute a strategy.

Proven track record of building organizational capability and talent.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated success in a matrix organization.

Excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to interact with all levels of employees.

Experience in leading large-scale change management.

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive plan.

This position is eligible for an annual long-term incentive plan.

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
