The National Institute for Student Success at Georgia State University (NISS) aims to increase the effective transfer of student-success innovations nationwide rapidly.

The Director of NISS Operations will provide strategic oversight for the day-to-day operations of the NISS. The director will provide administrative support to unit leaders, manage personnel issues, create process mapping for internal actions, participate in HR processes, lead all aspects of facilities management, ensure access to technology for all NISS employees, direct the invoicing and purchase order processes, and facilitate the contracting process for clients and third-party vendors. The director provides administrative direction and oversight of initiatives across NISS service areas to ensure operational efficiency, employee retention, efficient resource allocation, and process improvements.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO

Knowledge of University rules, policies, and procedures.

Knowledge of computer equipment and information systems, such as Peoplesoft Spectrum, Salesforce, GSU Marketplace, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Access, etc.

Knowledge of business, financial management, and standard human resources practices.

Effective communication, time management, and organizational skills.

Ability to supervise and direct the work of others.

Qualifications :

Minimum Hiring Qualifications:

Master’s degree and seven (7) years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.

Preferred Hiring Qualifications:

Earned track record of success in academic and professional settings with a strong ability to work on multiple projects.

Strong written and oral communication skills

Experience in supervising personnel and budget management

Strong organizational acumen and a proclivity for attention to the details

Ability to operate effectively in a wide range of professional and social settings

Ability to work collaboratively across organizations and institutions with a goal-oriented approach to success

Mentality of a self-starter, quick learner with an awareness to meet deadlines

Ability to follow and provide coordinated instruction and execute strategic planning at a university-wide level

A strong belief in innovation and understanding of the 21st Century digital learning

A high energy and aptitude to motivate others

Expertise in making connections between divergent people, projects, and goals
