$200,000 - $250,000 + 20-30% Annual Bonus + Restricted Stock Awards + Home Purchase DiscountKey Job Responsibilities:Leadership and supervision of the Accounting Department in a manner that will produce a team environment that will motivate, develop, and retain quality staff members.Development and documentation of business processes and accounting policies.Establishment and execution of internal controls over the company’s accounting and financial procedures.Evaluation of financial and operational controls throughout the company to assure the accuracy and reliability of financial reporting (internal and external). Review recommendations with Corporate Controller/CFO.Support of month-end and year-end close processes, including documentation via checklists and other evidence required for Sarbanes-Oxley.Issuance of financial reports in form and frequency to meet the needs of internal users.Implementation of current technology solutions to improve efficiency of accounting operations and Financial Reporting.Liaison between the company and external auditors including delegation of responsibilities and responses to potential deficiencies.Manage the quarterly and annual budgeting process.Monitor performance to proactively identify efficiency issues and propose solutions.Maintain a working knowledge of all phases of operations.Coordinate support to operations throughout the business.Provide regular performance updates to the senior leadership team.Requirements:Must have homebuilding experience in accounting and/or finance at an executive level.BS in Accounting, Finance or Management + CPA or MBA.Experience working in Newstar is a plus.Prior supervision of staff of 5+.Familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance standards and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software, and databases.High attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.Experience creating and maintaining financial statements.Familiarity with general ledger functions and necessary month-end/year-end closing processes and procedures.Strong time management and organizational skills.Ability to communicate effectively with staff and management, other departments, and those outside the company (vendors, customers, owners, etc.).Strong ability to adapt to changing circumstances and develop solutions to new and unique problems/challenges.Ability to train and develop employees with respect to technical skills and interpersonal/soft skills.Proven strategic planning and budgeting experience.Demonstrated experience setting, monitoring, and meeting quarterly and annual goals.Experience building and scaling teams and systems.Problem-solving skills.
