Easterseals Redwood is looking for a strategic and experienced Human Resource Director to join our team. The position will participate significantly in the day-to-day operational details of the human resource function by providing leadership and professional direction regarding all human resource issues to ensure effective management of the HR team. This includes areas of talent management, change management, organizational and performance management, benefits and compensation. The HR Director supports the development and implementation of HR policies and ensures compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:Strategic HR Leadership:

Collaborates with VP, Human Resources to understand the organization’s goals and strategies to implement human resource efforts that effectively communicate and support the organization’s mission and strategic vision. Support and execute HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy. Provides guidance and support to HR staff, ensuring alignment with company goals and strategies.Employee Relations & Engagement:

Foster positive employee relations by addressing employee issues and concerns. Ensure fair and consistent application of company policies and procedures. Fosters a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes employee engagement and satisfaction. Manages employee relations issues, providing guidance and support to HR Generalists, managers, and employees. Works through complex legal issues, minimizing the need for external legal counsel.Training and Development:

Assess training needs to develop and implement training programs that address skills gaps and enhance employee performance. Support development of leadership and management training which fosters a culture of continuous learning and development.Compliance & Risk Management:

Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Monitors and ensures compliance with relevant regulations and requirements pertaining to the management of human resources, and non-profit organizations, including governmental laws, regulations and recommended best practices; conducts audits, reviews, and recommends changes to policies and practices to maintain compliance. Stay updated on HR trends and best practices to mitigate risks and ensure legal compliance.Performance Management:

Support further development and improvement of performance management systems to drive high performance and employee engagement. Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.HR Metrics and Reporting:

Develop and analyze HR metrics to measure effectiveness and identify areas for improvement. Prepare regular reports for management on HR metrics, trends, and issues. Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from human resource information system (HRIS) or applicant tracking system (ATS). Analyze data and recommend best practices to increase employee engagement, retention/turnover, engagement, succession planning, compensation, etc. while ensuring compliance with legal requirements.HR Policies and Procedures:

Develop, implement, and communicate HR policies and procedures. Ensure policies are consistently applied across the organization.HR Management & Other Duties:Employee Engagement and Culture - Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture. Implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement, morale, and retention.Supports the development of the organization's DEIA strategy and efforts.Leads HR-related projects and strategic planning projects.Ensures timely completion of projects and integration activities.Represents the HR department at company meetings, conferences, and events, effectively communicating HR initiatives and strategies to diverse audiences in collaboration with the Vice President, Human Resources.Supports presentation and training session initiatives on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment law, and compliance requirements.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Demonstrated ability to think strategically and execute effectively.Proficiency in HRIS and other HR software applications.Performs other duties as assigned.Experience:Leadership Skills:

Experience developing and implementing leadership training and programs, as well as conducting needs assessments for organizational training priorities.Communication Skills:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to analyze HR data, metrics, and trends to make data-driven decisions.Ethical Practice:

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.Position Qualifications:Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required. Master’s degree and/or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) preferred.Proven experience as an HR Director or similar senior HR role with at least 7-10 years of progressive generalist human resources experience or related management experience.Experience working with human resources information systems (HCM/HRIS) specifically, Paycor.Ability to visit multi-state locations in both Ohio and Kentucky.Valid driver's license and insurance.Preferred Qualifications:SPHR or SHRM - SCP certification.
