Overview:

The COLUMBIA Class Program Office is seeking program representatives to support growing work in the design of the COLUMBIA Class ship.In the Program Office you will get exposure to all facets of the Electric Boat enterprise including design and engineering, planning, finance, contracts, construction and facilities. As the core disclosures ramp down and construction ramps up for COLUMBIA, design upgrades in the form of tasks from the Navy are increasing. There are currently over 70 independent tasks that require program level management that range from Ship Control to ILS. The management of these tasks will include interfacing with many costumers inside and outside of EB; design, engineering, planning, finance, contracts, construction, PMS397, SUPSHIPs, etc. As a Program Office Representative, you will be responsible for the execution, management, cost, schedule and reporting of each task up through the executive staff level. In addition, you will be responsible for ensuring all road blocks, technical and financial, are removed to keep the tasks on track. This position requires a highly motivated self-starter who possesses strong interpersonal and communications skills. Work hours are somewhat flexible with occasional work from home, when needed.Responsibilities:The program representative will manage a number of tasks and will work with the engineering managers and their staff to ensure successful execution of tasks. This role requires an understanding of project management, and Earned Value Management (EVM). Frequent communication with NAVSEA stakeholders and management will be necessary. The job responsibilities will be:Acting as the point of contact for and reporting of task status to NAVSEA and EB senior managementParticipating in a highly functional, interdisciplinary task team that adheres to quality, cost, and schedule requirementsPreparation and coordination of meetings to demonstrate progress, challenges, and resolution plans for program taskingPartaking in a yearly design review with the Navy leadership regarding task progress, schedule, costs and issuesCreating and analyzing program metrics, identifying issues and leading required corrective actionsDeveloping and helping others to develop project execution schedulesResolving technical and funding issues to ensure roadblocks are removedWorking closely with engineering task leads to drive solutions that support both technical and program objectivesDe-conflicting competing priorities and managing program riskQualifications:Required:Associates degree or above

and

a minimum of 4 years experience in a related fieldProject management and team leadership experienceInternal Candidates Must Come From Organizations Outside Operations (Casciano/Gabriel)Preferred:Bachelors degree in a technical fieldActive Secret clearanceStrong understanding of EBs Planning, design, manufacturing, and test practicesIdeal candidate will have experience managing a product through a ship design and construction life cycleUnderstanding of Ship Specification Development and requirements managementWorking knowledge of EVMExperience working with SUPSHIPs and NAVSEA is highly desirable
