Travel Nurse RN - ICU/Critical Care in Bangor, ME

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Job Specialty: ICU Job Duration: 26 weeks Shift: Night Shift (7 PM - 7 AM) Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years in ICU required License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Experience in Neuro and Trauma care - Charge nurse experience preferred Job Description: - Provide care for medical, surgical, trauma, neuro, ortho, and interventional patients - Manage ICP monitoring and External Ventricular Drain (EVD) - Adhere to spinal precautions, handle DKA, multi-system trauma patients, sepsis, ARDS, COVID, PNA, COPD, and stroke cases - Ensure accurate ventilator management and critical care drips - Perform drain management, stroke treatment, and manage hemodynamic lines (A-lines/CVP) - Recognize cardiac rhythms and provide tracheostomy care - Demonstrate strong assessment skills - Support provided by unassigned charge nurse, resource nurse, house supervisor, and in-house RT, hospitalist, intensivist, and trauma surgery team - Utilize the Cerner charting system - Float to Cardiac Care Unit (ICU), Cardiac Stepdown, or Medical Stepdown as needed - Participate in general hospital orientation followed by one shift on the unit - Weekend rotation required every other weekend - Submit holiday requests for approval Charting System/Equipment: - Cerner - Alaris - Pyxis Additional Information: - Scrub Color: Any solid color, must be professional - General Hospital orientation, followed by one shift on unit. - Provide support for patient care and maintain strong communication skills. Note: All holiday requests should be submitted to the manager for approval.
