**Job Title:** Registered Nurse - PCU
**Job Specialty:** Intermediate Care Unit
**Job Duration:** 26 weeks preferred
**Shift:** 7 PM - 7 AM, 12-hour night shifts
**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 per week
**Experience:** 1 year for Intermediate/PCU experience; 2 years if only Med/Surg experience with some PCU
**License:** Registered Nurse (RN)
**Certifications:** BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (AACCN and CCRN preferred)
**Must-Have:**- Experience with trauma and stroke patients- Skill in performing Q2H neuro checks- Proficiency in administering Highflow O2, chest tubes, Wound Vacs, Vacuum dressing changes- Competence in Bipap, general drain/ostomy care, and IV starts- Ability to care for trached patients on vents- Experience with Cardiac drips (e.g., Amiodarone, Cardizem) and Insulin titrating- Cardiac rhythm interpretation
**Job Description:**- Prescreen followed by manager interview required- Work in a facility with Level II Trauma Center- Provide intermediate care for trauma and neuro patients- Manage cardiac patients including STEMI, NSTEMI, CHF, AFIB with RVR, post-operative TAVR- Patient ratios: RN 1:3-4; Tech 1:6-12- Utilize Cerner charting system and Alaris IV pumps- Float to ED, ICU, CCU for intermediate assignments- Support from CNA, charge nurse, phlebotomy, ICU trained resource nurse, RT, hospitalist, and PT/OT- Engage in scheduling with general hospital orientation followed by on-unit training- Participate in weekend rotations every other weekend and adhere to holiday expectations based on unit needs- Flexible scrub color, must remain professional
