Coordinator of Data Management

Nature of Work: The Information Technology Coordinator, under the direction of a Manager or above, assists in the design, development and implementation of departmental processes and/or programs; May recommend policies and procedures to ensure effective coordination of departmental programs.
Typical Responsibilities: Coordinate and support the use of computer and information technology within departments, colleges, and divisions. Provide direct and overall computer support for assigned areas and consult with other ITS staff to resolve technical issues. Advise customers regarding IT related hardware and software configurations and purchases. Participate in the configuration, planning, installation, and administration of local area networked microcomputers. Provides leadership and guidance. Work collaboratively with university staff to ensure program's success. Assist in the preparation & delivery of workshops and training programs. May interpret departmental policies for area of responsibility. During declared campus emergencies, this position may be required to perform specific job related duties at a designated off campus location or place of residence.
Required Qualifications: This position requires either (a) Master's degree from an acceptable accredited institution in a directly related area of specialization; (b) Bachelor's degree from an acceptable accredited institution in a directly related area of specialization and two years of experience directly related to the job functions; or (c ) 6 years of direct experience.
General Description / Primary Purpose
The Coordinator of Data Management, under the direction of the Assistant Vice President for Advancement Operations & Annual Giving, plays an integral role in the design, development, implementation and interpretation of departmental processes and/or programs.
Job Function
Other responsibilities include, but not limited to:
-Maintains a deep level of understanding of all aspects of database management, how these aspects relate together and effect reporting, what standards are used during data entry, how the data is obtained, and how it is accessed via applications-Ensures that organization-wide database protocols are in place-In coordination with the Assistant Director Data Management, establishes data quality controls and leads data quality efforts by querying data for identification and analysis of anomalies, revises, strengthens and enhances key areas: prospect tracking and management, membership, gift processing (system/process view point), biographical data integrity assurance, and gift counting-Maintains data integrity by establishing regular system checks-Oversees the data cleanup process of items identified as part of regular checks. Writes data extract programs/ queries in response to internal and external data requests. Transforms raw data to prepared datasets for analysis and reporting. Summarizes statistical results of research projects by creating graphs, tables, and charts,-Manages access to fundraising systems-Serves as a backup for maintaining all university online giving pages in Blackbaud Net-Community and creation of new pages and event registration forms as necessary-Assists users with Raiser's Edge questions, assisting with staff development for The Raiser's Edge-Develops and delivers workshops and training programs-Provides input for the establishment of system policies and procedures, standards and schedules-This position is responsible for supporting highest confidentiality standards-Assists with creation and implementation of annual Data Acquisition Plan, working with internal teams to identify appropriate data to feed into The Raiser's Edge and the source/format of that data-Ensures data integrity by performing data analysis and identification of anomalies-Develops enhanced business processes, requirements, and specifications in response to evolving user requirements and anticipated future needs-Documents policies and procedures related to assign job functions-May interpret departmental policies for area of responsibility-May be responsible for other duties as assigned-During declared campus emergencies, this position may be required to perform specific job related duties at a designated off campus location or place of residence
