SALARY$117,978 - $132,891New hires may earn a salary ranging from the minimum to the midpoint of the pay scale, with education and experience taken into consideration.LOCATIONSeattle, WA (Hybrid)FIND OUT ABOUT THIS ROLE AND OUR MISSION TO CREATE POSITIVE CHANGEThe Grants Director is a strategic leader responsible for managing and optimizing the organization's grant portfolio, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and goals. This role involves making informed, strategic decisions about grant renewals, funding levels, and administrative fees, while fostering deep partnerships with programmatic teams and funders. The Grants Director will play a pivotal role in integrating Behavioral Health (BH) grants into the broader grant management framework and collaborating closely with various departments to ensure financial alignment and effective use of funds.Plymouth Housing is a nonprofit organization that develops and operates permanent supportive housing for single adults who have experienced chronic homelessness. With apartment buildings throughout King County, Plymouth is helping the most vulnerable members of our community leave homelessness behind forever. At Plymouth, we're not simply trying to get people off the streets. We provide supportive services like case management and health care so that our residents can thrive long-term. As part of our strategic vision, we are building internal behavioral health services and transforming our systems to address rapid growth and the changing needs of residents.WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO BE DOING IN THIS ROLE AT PLYMOUTH HOUSINGStrategic Grant Portfolio Management:

Lead strategic decision-making processes regarding grant renewals, including determining what to fund and optimizing renewal amounts.Ensure the inclusion of appropriate administrative fees in all grants to cover organizational overhead.Maintain and enhance partnerships with programmatic teams to align grant funding with business needs.Develop deep relationships with funders to understand and influence their funding processes and policies.

Financial and Budgetary Oversight of Grants:

Serve as the lead strategist for budget analysis, allocating costs across building operations, services, behavioral health, and other areas for approximately 60 grants totaling $40M in annual funding.Manage labor allocations and reallocations as new or renewal grant awards are received.Coordinate non-labor costs, focusing on building supplies/services in collaboration with the Director of Asset Management, Director of Property Management, and VP of Property Management.Ensure tenant support costs are aligned with funding, working closely with Senior Directors in PSH and the VP of PSH.

Grant Application and Renewal Processes:

Lead the grant application and renewal processes in collaboration with finance and program teams.Communicate with organizational leaders to ensure timely and proper allocation of funds.Work with program staff to develop and maintain all grant agreements and Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) related to grant awards.

Relationship Management and Compliance:

Maintain relationships with key public funders, understanding program requirements and planning for flexibility.Educate and collaborate with building and program staff to ensure a broad understanding of grant sources and consistent charging practices on timesheets, expense reports, and invoices.Oversee the work of the Grant Administrator and two Grant Specialists responsible for data collection, compliance, and grant reporting.Develop and implement grant management policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with all grant requirements.

Collaboration and Integration:

Collaborate with the BH team to integrate their grants into the overall grant management processes.Work with the SPC/SSP team to ensure their grants are effectively managed within the broader grant portfolio.Collaborate with internal program, finance, and external affairs teams to advocate for more effective and efficient grant policies and practices, minimizing administrative costs and maximizing mission alignment.

External Liaison and Advocacy:

Interface and coordinate with external agencies and community partners, such as the Washington State Low-Income Housing Alliance and the Seattle-King County Coalition on Homelessness, to maintain and enhance revenue streams.Interface and coordinate with External Affairs team to share insights on grant administration policies and practices that could improve funding availability and grant administration practices to reduce overhead burden.Act as a liaison with Directors across the organization, supporting funder inspections and site visits.

Support for New Developments:

Collaborate with the Real Estate Development team on the creation of initial budgets and grant applications for new buildings under development.Support operational teams during the transition from real estate development to ongoing operations.
