For more than 90 years, our innovative drive has kept us a step ahead of our customers' evolving needs.Job DescriptionAllstate Insurance Company is looking for a current 3L Law student to join the Client Litigation Services (CLS) Department as a Senior Consultant I (3L Law Clerk). CLS represents policyholders in claims-related litigation/disputes across the country and defends the Company in low and moderate exposure bodily injury and property damage lawsuits.While awaiting the results of the bar examination and subsequent admission to the bar, under the direction and supervision of an admitted attorney, the Senior Consultant I prepares pleadings and motions, conducts discovery, including reviewing documents, interviewing clients, preparing trial materials, and summarizing and analyzing research.Key ResponsibilitiesReview new file assignments and draft initial pleadings (e.g., answer, motion, etc.) and draft discoveryPrepare briefs to assist clients in presenting cases in small claims court (CA)Draft responses to discovery demandsAssist clients in answering questions regarding discoveryReview and serve responses to discovery demandsAssist attorney in preparing materials for trial, arbitration, or mediationAttend arbitrations, depositions, mediations, and trials with admitted attorneyThe position begins in early to mid-August while waiting for results of the bar exam.EducationJuris Doctor (Required)2024 3L Law student; awaiting bar resultsFunctional SkillsFoundational skills/abilities/experiences in legal knowledge, business knowledge, issue management, analytical skills, influencing others, coaching and development, self-development, and productivityTechnical skills including MS Office suiteProject management skills and law firm/vendor managementSkillsCustomer Centricity, Digital Literacy, Evidence Gathering, Inclusive Leadership, Learning Agility, Legal Document Preparation, Legal Research, Litigation, Mediation, Results-OrientedCompensationCompensation offered for this role is $62,800.00 - 114,175.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation.Joining our team isn't just a job - it's an opportunity that encourages you to challenge the status quo and impact the future for the greater good.Allstate generally does not sponsor individuals for employment-based visas for this position.Effective July 1, 2014, under Indiana House Enrolled Act (HEA) 1242, it is against public policy of the State of Indiana and a discriminatory practice for an employer to discriminate against a prospective employee on the basis of status as a veteran.Helping diverse candidates find great careers is our goal.
